Unmotivated high schooler Masachika Kuze prefers coasting through classes with mobile games and afternoon naps, completely unfazed by the icy reputation of his deskmate, Alisa Mikhailovna "Alya" Kujou. Widely revered as the school's stunning and flawless "solitary princess," Alya constantly plays the part of the strict, disapproving class representative toward Masachika, yet secretly uses her fluent Russian to whisper affectionate teases and flustered praises under her breath. What the proud half-Russian girl fails to realize is that Masachika understands every word, secretly playing dumb as he navigates her adorable, mixed-signal bravado and slowly chips away at her guarded facade.
